This four-door SUV features a high beltline and an angular cabin, a nod to the earlier days and its pickup truck bloodline, with a roofline spoiler helping to lengthen the roofline. The lower front end is muscular, while the blocky lighting emphasizes the truck-like features. Satin chrome highlights the front and rear skid plate elements and is featured across the body, including on the door handles and on the liftgate applique. Multi-contour bucket seats in the first row feature Platinum embroidery, while all seats are clad in Medium Soft Ceramic Nirvana with quilting and perforated inserts. There is plenty of room for all seven passengers inside the 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum, including 960 millimeters of headroom and 846 millimeters of legroom in the third row, one of the roomiest in the class. With all seats in place, there is room for 595 litres, while there is room for up to 2,314 litres of cargo with the seats stored out of the way. Aluminum and Brown Ash Swirl trim is used across the interior, including the instrument panel, while leather wraps across the centre console lid, door armrest, and around the steering wheel. Heated and cooled front bucket seats are standard and second-row heated bucket seats are optional, with dual-zone automatic temperature control and rear auxiliary climate control helping to provide perfect temperature for everyone. Information and entertainment is centered around the voice-activated SYNC with MyFord Touch system featuring an 8" colour LCD touch screen set in the centre stack. This multimedia hub provides USB and auxiliary ports along with a powerful 500-watt Sony premiere sound system and a navigation system to help find your way. Bluetooth connectivity keeps helps you to keep your focus on the road ahead while still being able to make or take a phone callor get directions from the navigation system.
