The Ins and Outs
Available in regular cab, super cab or super crew cab, the F-150 XLT has either a 5-1/2', 6-1/2' or 8' box depending on the cab style you choose. The optional box extender offers you the possibility of even more space.
Chrome lovers can rejoice, as the chrome front and rear step bumpers with body colour upper fascia is standard, as well as the chrome grille and surround with chrome bar-style insert.
The cloth-trimmed 40/20/40 front seats are both comfortable and versatile and feature a centre section with integrated shoulder belt seats that can be folded down to serve as an armrest. The XLT also includes integrated cup holders and storage.
While the steering wheel in the XLT has optional leather wrapping, the wheels you roll on are 17" machined aluminium wheels with painted accents, which come standard. You can also opt for 17" 7-lug aluminium wheels, 18" chrome-clad aluminium wheels or 20" chrome-clad aluminium wheels.
This truck may be a workhorse at heart, but it embraces the latest MyKey technology, which allows you to program individual keys so that two members of a household can share a car, but have personalized settings take effect when they use their unique keys. MyKey is designed to help parents encourage teens to drive safely by letting you designate a key to operate special features, such as restricting the vehicle's top speed to 130 km/h (80 mph) and limiting the audio system to 45 percent of maximum volume. You can also program many other features with the MyKey.

The F-150 XLT comes standard with a 6-Speed Automatic transmission or an optional 6-speed SelectShift Automatic transmission.
Safety
The available Reverse Sensing System uses an audible signal to alert you to an obstacle up to six feet behind you when you're slowly backing up. And to keep you safe on the inside, the XLT surrounds you in a cushion of air bags in the event of a crash.
The four-wheel disc Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) makes sure you can stop when you need to. And to help you with your towing, the F-150 XLT offers an available fully integrated Trailer Brake Controller (TBC), which synchronizes vehicle and trailer brakes for seamless braking.
